Origin is a digital distribution platform developed by Electronic Arts. It offers mainly online gaming service and digital rights management (DRM). Origin allows its users to purchase games via the internet for PC and mobile platforms and then download them with the Origin client. It also features many social options, like profile management, networking with friends on chat, and direct game joining (along with the in-game overlay). Max Payne is a video game franchise created by Remedy Entertainment and Rockstar Studios. It is named after the game’s protagonist, Max Payne, a detective who became a vigilante after the murder of his entire family. The series' first (2001) and second (2003) installments were written by Sam Lake and Max Payne 3 (2012) by Dan Houser.
