Origin is a digital distribution platform developed by Electronic Arts. It offers mainly online gaming service and digital rights management (DRM). Origin allows its users to purchase games via the internet for PC and mobile platforms and then download them with the Origin client. It also features many social options, like profile management, networking with friends on chat, and direct game joining (along with the in-game overlay). Another cool option is streaming via TwitchTV, sharing of game library and community integration with networking sites (Facebook, Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, etc.). Origin also allows its users to browse and purchase games for full price from Electronic Arts' catalogs. EA Downloader was launched in late 2005. After many changes, it was reopened under the Origin name on June 3, 2011. Currently, Origin has over 50 million registered users.

The Watch Dogs franchise revolves around two main video games, created and published by Ubisoft. It also encompasses a novelization and few comic books. Both games are a unique mix of genres, combining action-adventure and third-person shooter with open-world RPG. The first game, Watch Dogs, was released in late 2014 on multiple platforms (but was popular mostly on PlayStation, XBox, and PC). Both games are open-world (Watch Dogs is set in Chicago, Illinois and Watch Dogs 2 in San Francisco Bay Area) and both follow a story of a gifted hacker (in WD it’s Aiden Pearce and in WD2, Marcus Holloway). Players can freely roam both cities in a third-person perspective and use the protagonists’ skills to hack into various systems and devices. An online multiplayer mode is also provided in the game, allowing up to eight players to engage in both cooperative and competitive gameplay in a recreation of the single-player setting.
