Origin is a digital distribution platform developed by Electronic Arts. It offers mainly online gaming service and digital rights management (DRM). Origin allows its users to purchase games via the internet for PC and mobile platforms and then download them with the Origin client. It also features many social options, like profile management, networking with friends on chat, and direct game joining (along with the in-game overlay). Another cool option is streaming via TwitchTV, sharing of game library and community integration with networking sites (Facebook, Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, etc.). Electronic Arts wants Origin to match its leading competitor, Steam by adding many new features, rewards, and cross-platform releases. Origin also allows its users to browse and purchase games for full price from Electronic Arts' catalogs. Instead of receiving a box, disc, or even an activation code, the purchased software is immediately (and permanently) attached to the user's account and can be downloaded with the corresponding Origin client. EA Downloader was launched in late 2005. After many changes, it was reopened under the Origin name on June 3, 2011. Currently, Origin has over 50 million registered users.
Dangerous wasteland, gangs of bloodthirsty raiders, long-lasting wars between powerful corporations, and you Gamer. Stranded in this crazy space hell and struggling for survival. Only one game can deliver in such a crazy setting and it's Borderlands! Borderlands series is a real mix of genres and themes. It’s a first-person shooter with action RPG elements set in western/science fantasy world. Created and developed by Gearbox it has been immensely popular on both PC and consoles. All games in Borderlands take place on a fictional planet called Pandora in the unspecified future. Various tales of a mythical “Vault” led to the power struggle between business, military, and mercenary groups over the years. This has also attracted a number of specialized Vault Hunters, lured by the promise of immeasurable treasures. The series consists of three main titles, each with multiple DLC’s: Borderlands (released in 2009), Borderlands 2 (released in 2012) and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! (released in 2014). Since 2009 several spin-offs have been released, including an episodic graphic adventure game made by Telltale. The series was very successful, selling over 30 million copies worldwide in just a few years. Get the latest Borderlands installment and immerse yourself in its crazy world. How far can you get? The Watch Dogs franchise revolves around two main video games, created and published by Ubisoft. It also encompasses a novelization and few comic books. Both games are a unique mix of genres, combining action-adventure and third-person shooter with open-world RPG. The first game, Watch Dogs, was released in late 2014 on multiple platforms (but was popular mostly on PlayStation, XBox, and PC). Both games are open-world (Watch Dogs is set in Chicago, Illinois and Watch Dogs 2 in San Francisco Bay Area) and both follow a story of a gifted hacker (in WD it’s Aiden Pearce and in WD2, Marcus Holloway). Players can freely roam both cities in a third-person perspective and use the protagonists’ skills to hack into various systems and devices. An online multiplayer mode is also provided in the game, allowing up to eight players to engage in both cooperative and competitive gameplay in a recreation of the single-player setting. Both of the Watch Dogs games were a massive hit. The first installment sold over 12 million copies and its sequel even more. Open world, movie-like plot and a lot of action. Watch Dogs games can be a great experience for any gamer. Get your own copy at Games Republic.
