test missing keyTBS (Turn-Base Strategy) game is a subgenre of strategy video games where players take their turns when playing. This is completely different from real-time strategy (RTS) where all players play the same game simultaneously. Turn based strategy is ideal for gamers with low APM (Action-Per-Minute rate) and more casual approach towards gaming. The first TBS video games were actually converted from historic board games. After their huge success, video game companies created their own franchises based on original concepts. That’s how the best TBS games of all time were born. Titles like Sid Meier's Civilization, Panzer General, and of course the entire Heroes of Might and Magic series are well known among the players from all over the world. Fun fact: The oldest turn-base strategy game is actually the game of chess. Games Republic is a place where every PC gamer will find the best TBS games. The latter, albeit much younger, was definitely the more “active” on the market which resulted in many installments in the series. It’s one of the most iconic titles in the FPS genre, with millions of loyal fans across the world. Quake is a series of first-person shooters, starting with the game of the same name. In first Quake (released in 1996) players must find their way through various maze-like, dark, medieval environments while battling a variety of monsters using a wide array of weapons. Quake II (1997) and Quake 4 (2005) are equally dark but unlike Quake set in the future where humans are in conflict with a cybernetic race known only as the Strogg. The third installment in the series, Quake III Arena (1999), was a multiplayer-focused FPS and a response to the increasingly popular Unreal Tournament game. Quake games are iconic and even now, after all these years, they can bring a smile on gamer’s face. A title definitely worth trying!Hide
