Survival horror is a subgenre of action-adventure video games heavily inspired by horror fiction. It is typically focused on the character’s survival as the game continuously tries to scare him/her with either graphics or sound effects. The reasons behind this are limited ammunition, poor vision, and various other obstructions preventing player's interaction with the in-game world.
