4.2 from 5416 reviews

A simulation video game genre describes a vast and diverse category of games. These games are generally designed to closely simulate many of the real world aspects and activities. A typical simulation game have no predefined goals and players are allowed to freely control their characters and environments. Well-known examples are war games, business games, and role play simulations. The Sims franchise is considered by many as one of the best (and most accurate) simulation games of all time. That said, Sim City is known as the first “true” simulation game. Simulation games are great for players who like to take their sweet time and focus on many aspects during their gameplay. Games Republic offers only the best simulation games for every PC gamer. Choose one of our top products and immerse yourself in pure fun!
In Single Player mode, only one player is expected to participate in every gaming session. The term “Single Player video game” usually refers to a game that can only be played by one person. The “Single Player mode” usually refers to a particular game mode that is designed for one player, though the game also contains other modes (that can be played by several players simultaneously). The majority of modern video games are designed so that they can be played in Single Player. Although many of these games have modes that allow two or more players to have fun, very few require more than one player for the game to be played. A good example is The Unreal Tournament series. Single Player games rely heavily on compelling stories and immersive settings. The point of this is drawing players into the experience and creating a sense of investment. Humans are unpredictable and therefore players cannot be relied upon to carry a narrative in a particular direction. Because of this fact, most multiplayer games try not to focus on a linear narrative. By contrast, many Single Player games are built around a compelling story and interactions with the in-game world.
War. War never changes. Every time you play a Fallout game, those legendary words are coming out of the speakers. Fallout is a franchise consisting of eight post-apocalyptic role-playing video games created in 1998 by Interplay Entertainment. All events in the series are set in the 22nd and 23rd century. It’s a dystopian, retrofuturistic world heavily influenced by the America’s post-war culture (a unique combination of hope, technology, fear, and nuclear annihilation). The Fallout series is said to be a spiritual successor of 1988’s Wasteland. Although the game worlds are different, the story, locations, inhabitants, and characters (both playable and non-playable) draw many parallels. The first two installments in the series, Fallout (1997) and Fallout 2 (1998), were developed by Black Isle Studios and are considered groundbreaking among the RPG fans. Since the release of Fallout 3 (2008) the franchise took a different approach. Fallout games became first-person shooters (with some RPG elements) set in the open world. It made the gameplay more simple and accessible, a fact that was both praised and criticized by the series’ fans. The most recent installment in the series is Fallout 4, released in late 2015. Every RPG fan knows this series. It’s a legendary brand and a must-have for every true gamer. Check out the Fallout games on Games Republic and enter the Wastelands.
The Elder Scrolls (or TES) is a big franchise consisting of open-world action RPGs developed and published by Bethesda. The series is known for its focus on free gameplay and highly detailed open worlds. The last three installments of TES (Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim) won Game of the Year awards. The entire series has sold over 42 million copies worldwide. The Elder Scrolls are typical role-playing games, although they often include various elements from action and even adventure games. Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim are all focused on creating and developing a playable character. Every TES game has a skill system and the more a certain skill is leveled, the more it helps to level the character. The world itself can be described as one of high fantasy with multiple influences from different cultures. Many races exist in the world of The Elder Scrolls, both typical for high fantasy (humans, orcs, and elves) and new (lizard-like Argonians, who are lizard-like and cat-like Khajiit). There is also magic, mythical creatures (dragons), various powerful factions (Mages Guild, Dark Brotherhood, etc.), cities, strongholds, and plot elements driven by legends and prophecies. The Elder Scrolls is one of the best RPG series of all time. Get your own copy on Games Republic!
XCOM is a reboot of the original X-Com, created by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games. It’s a sci-fi video game franchise featuring an elite international organization tasked with countering alien invasion of Earth. The series began in 1994 with the strategy video game UFO: Enemy Unknown. The original franchise (developed by MicroProse) included six published games and two novelizations. The series achieved a sizable cult following and has influenced many other video games; including the creation of a number of clones, spiritual successors, and unofficial remakes. The XCOM series began in 2012 with the strategy video game XCOM: Enemy Unknown. It was a critical and commercial success, with immediately spawn an expansion, called Enemy Within, as well as a prequel, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified. A sequel, titled XCOM 2, has been released in 2016. Take command over the elite squad and stop the alien invasion. The setting and atmosphere in the XCOM games are truly amazing. Try them out!
Worms is a franchise consisting of video games created by Team17. Worms video games can be described as a mix of artillery and turn-based games. In a typical Worms game, a player controls a small squad of worms and battles other squads (computer- or player-controlled) on a destructible map. During the course of the game, players take time-limited turns controlling one of their worms. Every turn they can use one tool or weapon available to them to attack and kill their opponents' worms, winning the game. Loads of humor, an arsenal of bizarre weapons, and colorful cartoon-style animation are all trademarks of the Worms franchise. The series quickly became popular and was described by the gaming press as a mix of Scorch, Cannon Fodder, and Lemmings. The most popular games in the entire franchise are Worms (1995), Worms 2 (1997), Worms Armageddon (1999), and Worms 3D (2003). Few Worms-themed spin-offs have also been released, including Onlineworms (2001), Worms Blast (2002), and Worms Golf (2004). Nowadays, Worms are published mostly on mobile devices and OS X platform. Funny, engaging and addictive. Worms are one of the best time killers available. Take command over your own team of weapon-crazed worms and fight for domination on a map.
