Sandbox RPG Sonic The Hedgehog

4.1 from 8151 reviews

Sandbox is a loose term used to describe the open world video games. In a typical sandbox RPG, players can move freely through a virtual world and are given particular freedom in regard to objective approach - unlike in other RPG games with more linear structure. A sandbox RPG usually lacks the invisible walls and/or loading screens (a common trait of linear level designs) but still has some restrictions in the game environment. Games with a particularly high level of autonomy are typically MMORPGs (e.g. World of Warcraft) and sometimes also classic single-player RPGs (like the Fallout series). The most appealing trait of typical open world games is that they try to simulate reality and allow players to develop many aspects of their gameplay (e.g. character, world, questline, etc.). It should also be noted that sandbox games don’t have a specific goal or pre-defined ending. The best, most popular sandbox games include Watch Dogs, Final Fantasy XV, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Grand Theft Auto V, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and of course Minecraft. Immerse yourself in a living world! The best sandbox RPG games for PC and consoles - only on Games Republic.
Sonic the Hedgehog is a very popular video game franchise created by Sega. The franchise consists mostly of speed-based platform games but it has been spun out into other media (cartoons, anime, comic book series, etc.) as well. Aside from the aforementioned platformers, Sonic games consist of puzzle, fighting, and even RPG titles. The series’ protagonist is an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog named Sonic, who tries to stop the diabolical Doctor Eggman and foil his plans of world domination. Thankfully, Sonic is not alone as he can always count on his friends: Tails, Amy, and Knuckles. Sonic the Hedgehog video game series has sold over 80 million physical copies (over 350 million units with mobile downloads). Start your adventure as Sonic, Tails, Amy, or Knuckles and stop evil Doctor Eggman from conquering the world! Sonic games are probably the best and the paciest platformers of all time. Check them out at Games Republic!
Red Faction is a series of shooter video games created by Volition and currently owned by THQ Nordic. Since the introduction of the first Red Faction game in 2001, the franchise was released on multiple platforms (PC, PlayStation, GameCube, and Xbox). The Red Faction series has been heavy on its thematic undertones throughout the games (one of the more outstanding themes was a revolutionary socialist undertone). From the miners rebellion featured in Red Faction and Red Faction: Guerrilla (2009) to the overthrown monarchy of Red Faction II (2002), this has been a central theme since the franchise’s inception. Red Faction series has had three distinct styles of gameplay over the years. The first is a traditional FPS element (used by the first two games in the series), while the second is a TPS style of open world gameplay (Red Faction: Guerrilla) and a third person style of corridor shooter used in Red Faction: Armageddon. All games share one common element which is the series' unique environmental destruction system. This system (based on a Geo-Mod engine) was the most proficient in Red Faction: Guerrilla where the game's entire environment was completely destructible. The series has received many positive reviews, with the original Red Faction and third installment (Red Faction: Guerrilla) getting the most acclaim. Red Faction is one of the most iconic franchises and features many ground-breaking gameplay elements. It’s atmospheric, gritty and has a meaningful message. You should definitely give it a go!
