Real-time tactics (also known as RTT) is a subgenre of tactical war video games played in real-time. These games are simulating the circumstances of operational warfare and various military tactics. RTT is differentiated from real-time strategy gameplay by the lack of resource management and base or unit building. Instead, it focuses on the importance of individual units and battlefield tactics. Unlike the typical RPG video games, RTT titles don’t have resource-gathering, production, or economic management elements in them. Instead, they focus on tactical and operational aspects of war such as the use of terrain for tactical advantage or unit formations. In RTT games players usually have to complete their tasks by using only the forces provided to them, and by the provision of a realistic representation of military tactics. War. War never changes. Every time you play a Fallout game, those legendary words are coming out of the speakers. Fallout is a franchise consisting of eight post-apocalyptic role-playing video games created in 1998 by Interplay Entertainment. All events in the series are set in the 22nd and 23rd century. It’s a dystopian, retrofuturistic world heavily influenced by the America’s post-war culture (a unique combination of hope, technology, fear, and nuclear annihilation). The Fallout series is said to be a spiritual successor of 1988’s Wasteland. The first two installments in the series, Fallout (1997) and Fallout 2 (1998), were developed by Black Isle Studios and are considered groundbreaking among the RPG fans. Since the release of Fallout 3 (2008) the franchise took a different approach. Fallout games became first-person shooters (with some RPG elements) set in the open world. It made the gameplay more simple and accessible, a fact that was both praised and criticized by the series’ fans. The most recent installment in the series is Fallout 4, released in late 2015.
