Point-and-click adventure games are a very distinctive genre in which players control their characters through a standard point-and-click interface. Typically, all the player needs is a computer mouse, though additional controls are sometimes supported. In all the best point-and-click games, players have to click on the screen in order to move their characters around, interact with various elements of the world (including NPCs), and examine objects in the game. Point-and-click games often come down to collecting multiple items in the inventory and figuring the right way and time to use them. In order to do that, players have to use clues from the visual elements of the game (e.g. descriptions of certain items, dialogue lines from NPCs, etc.). Dishonored is a stealth action-adventure video game franchise, created in 2012 by Arkane Studios and published worldwide by Bethesda. Set in the fictional, industrial city of Dunwall, Dishonored games follow the story of Corvo Attano and Emily Kaldwin (an optional protagonist in Dishonored 2). Dishonored’s unique steampunk style and well-executed mechanics resulted in franchise’s massive success. Both Dishonored games are played from a first-person perspective and allow players to undertake many assassination and infiltration missions, with a heavy emphasis on player’s choice. Objectives can be completed through stealth, purposeful combat, or a mix of both. Exploring levels opens new paths and alternatives for accomplishing mission goals. Players can complete all missions by killing their targets or eliminating them in a non-lethal manner. The story and missions are changed in response to the players’ violent actions and/or lack thereof. Dishonored games are one of the best, highly praised titles in the last few years. Their beautiful visuals and unique style make them a real jewel among modern FPS games. A must-have for every gamer!
