In Single Player mode, only one player is expected to participate in every gaming session. The term “Single Player video game” usually refers to a game that can only be played by one person. The majority of modern video games are designed so that they can be played in Single Player. Although many of these games have modes that allow two or more players to have fun, very few require more than one player for the game to be played. A good example is The Unreal Tournament series. Single Player games rely heavily on compelling stories and immersive settings. The point of this is drawing players into the experience and creating a sense of investment. Humans are unpredictable and therefore players cannot be relied upon to carry a narrative in a particular direction. Because of this fact, most multiplayer games try not to focus on a linear narrative. By contrast, many Single Player games are built around a compelling story and interactions with the in-game world.
Tom Clancy's is a legendary franchise used by Ubisoft for many of their video games. It was originally created to brand video games, based on Tom Clancy’s works but today it’s a very renown franchise on its own. TC’s games are renown for their accurate approach to military tactics and strategy, as well as a decent level of realism. One can say, the Tom Clancy’s franchise has gone from strength to strength in video game form, spawning several established franchises that include FPS games, flight sims, strategy games, stealth games, and even some turn-based battles. There are currently more than 30 games with “Tom Clancy’s” in their title (Rainbow Six series, Splinter Cell series, and Ghost Recon series). If you like squad-based tactics, stealth and gritty, military theme, Tom Clancy’s games are definitely for you. It’s one of the most successful and positively acclaimed video game franchises of all time.
