Fighting Single player

Fighting video games belong to a very specific genre that is trying to simulate close-range combat against various opponents. The player controls an on-screen character and engages in close combat with his/her opponent, which can be either controlled by AI or by another player. While ranged and melee weapons may be present in fighting games, they strongly emphasize brutal and spectacular hand-to-hand combat. Fighting games were one of the dominant genres in the 1990s, thanks to the legendary franchises like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, still considered by many as the best titles of all time. Since then, the genre had it’s ups and downs, eventually evolving from 2D to 3D graphics. Other fighting games worth mentioning are Tekken, Guilty Gear, Soul Calibur and Virtua Fighter. In Single Player mode, only one player is expected to participate in every gaming session. The term “Single Player video game” usually refers to a game that can only be played by one person. Single Player games rely heavily on compelling stories and immersive settings. The point of this is drawing players into the experience and creating a sense of investment. Humans are unpredictable and therefore players cannot be relied upon to carry a narrative in a particular direction. Because of this fact, most multiplayer games try not to focus on a linear narrative. By contrast, many Single Player games are built around a compelling story and interactions with the in-game world.
