Who doesn’t know what a PC is? Personal Computers are one of the most defining features of our time. Machines that are great for work, for fun and for studying. But what PC really is? The Wiki says it’s a “multi-purpose electronic computer whose size, capabilities and price make it feasible for individual use”. But it gets better: “Personal Computers are intended to be operated directly by an end-user, rather than by a computer expert or technician”. Computers were originally invented to “compute” and solve complex mathematical problems. Today, everything is different and their original purpose is actually the least important one. Instead, they are used for gathering data (internet), entertainment (video games, movies, music, etc) and work. Since the early 1990s, Microsoft operating systems and Intel hardware have dominated the PC market. There are alternatives to Microsoft Windows operating system but they still occupy a minority share of the industry. These include Apple's iOS and free open-source operating systems (e.g. Linux and Chrome OS).GOG.com (formerly known as Good Old Games) is a digital distribution platform service for video games and films, owned by CD Projekt. GOG delivers video games through its DRM-free digital platform. Originally known as a “mine” of classic games (hence the name Good Old Games) it eventually began selling more recent titles in 2012. The initial goal was to release classic games to a modern audience without DRM restrictions. Since then, GOG.com announced deals with many major publishers (Ubisoft, Disney Interactive) and radically expanded their stock. The digital goods (video games and movies) offered on GOG.com are distributed without digital rights management and can be purchased (and downloaded) online. Along with said games and films, customers are also able to download various extras, relating to video games they purchased. These extra materials often include soundtracks, wallpapers, manuals, avatars, and special in-game content. GOG.com also offers full customer support (for all purchases) and a 30-day refund guarantee.Grand Theft Auto is such a legendary franchise. With over 250 million units sold, the GTA brand is well-known in the gaming world. GTA games are typically set in fictional cities (e.g. Liberty City, Vice City, or San Andreas), which are stand-ins for the real-world cities. Gameplay focuses on an open world where the player can choose his/her objectives and complete various missions in order to progress an overall story. There are many engaging side activities, all consisting of driving, action-adventure, TPS, stealth, racing, and even roleplay elements. Each part of the GTA series focuses on a different protagonist who attempts to rise through the ranks of the city’s criminal underworld. It should be noted that the Grand Theft Auto series has been voiced by many film and music veterans, including Dennis Hopper, Samuel L. Jackson, Burt Reynolds, Debbie Harry, Phil Collins, and Axl Rose. Action, adventure, and a lot of humor. Grand Theft Auto is all that and more! Check out the best GTA titles on Games Republic.Hide
