Single player XCOM

In Single Player mode, only one player is expected to participate in every gaming session. The term “Single Player video game” usually refers to a game that can only be played by one person. The “Single Player mode” usually refers to a particular game mode that is designed for one player, though the game also contains other modes (that can be played by several players simultaneously). The majority of modern video games are designed so that they can be played in Single Player. Although many of these games have modes that allow two or more players to have fun, very few require more than one player for the game to be played. A good example is The Unreal Tournament series. Single Player games rely heavily on compelling stories and immersive settings. The point of this is drawing players into the experience and creating a sense of investment. Humans are unpredictable and therefore players cannot be relied upon to carry a narrative in a particular direction. Because of this fact, most multiplayer games try not to focus on a linear narrative. By contrast, many Single Player games are built around a compelling story and interactions with the in-game world.
XCOM is a reboot of the original X-Com, created by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games. It’s a sci-fi video game franchise featuring an elite international organization tasked with countering alien invasion of Earth. The series began in 1994 with the strategy video game UFO: Enemy Unknown. The original franchise (developed by MicroProse) included six published games and two novelizations. The series achieved a sizable cult following and has influenced many other video games; including the creation of a number of clones, spiritual successors, and unofficial remakes. The XCOM series began in 2012 with the strategy video game XCOM: Enemy Unknown. It was a critical and commercial success, with immediately spawn an expansion, called Enemy Within, as well as a prequel, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified. Devil May Cry (also known as DMC)is a video game series created by Hideki Kamiya and Capcom. Originally created as a Resident Evil’s sequel, it was so different in style and mechanics that it was developed into a completely new game. The series focuses on the main character Dante and his goal of avenging his mother's murder. The gameplay consists of multiple combat scenes in which players have to extend long chains of attacks and avoid taking damage. The series is very loosely based on the Divine Comedy poem by the use of numerous allusions (including the game's protagonist, named after Dante Alighieri). The gameplay of Devil May Cry games focuses primarily on fast-paced combat, puzzle-solving, and exploration (the latter are retained from DMC’s survival horror origins). They are downplayed however as Devil May Cry games focus mostly on action. The Devil May Cry series has been a massive hit, with the first three games selling millions of copies worldwide. This success has led to the creation of novelizations, comic book series, an animated series, and even a line of action figures.
