Worms is a franchise consisting of video games created by Team17. Worms video games can be described as a mix of artillery and turn-based games. In a typical Worms game, a player controls a small squad of worms and battles other squads (computer- or player-controlled) on a destructible map. During the course of the game, players take time-limited turns controlling one of their worms. Every turn they can use one tool or weapon available to them to attack and kill their opponents' worms, winning the game. Loads of humor, an arsenal of bizarre weapons, and colorful cartoon-style animation are all trademarks of the Worms franchise. The series quickly became popular and was described by the gaming press as a mix of Scorch, Cannon Fodder, and Lemmings. The most popular games in the entire franchise are Worms (1995), Worms 2 (1997), Worms Armageddon (1999), and Worms 3D (2003). Few Worms-themed spin-offs have also been released, including Onlineworms (2001), Worms Blast (2002), and Worms Golf (2004). Nowadays, Worms are published mostly on mobile devices and OS X platform. The Watch Dogs franchise revolves around two main video games, created and published by Ubisoft. It also encompasses a novelization and few comic books. Both games are a unique mix of genres, combining action-adventure and third-person shooter with open-world RPG. The first game, Watch Dogs, was released in late 2014 on multiple platforms (but was popular mostly on PlayStation, XBox, and PC). Both games are open-world (Watch Dogs is set in Chicago, Illinois and Watch Dogs 2 in San Francisco Bay Area) and both follow a story of a gifted hacker (in WD it’s Aiden Pearce and in WD2, Marcus Holloway). Players can freely roam both cities in a third-person perspective and use the protagonists’ skills to hack into various systems and devices. An online multiplayer mode is also provided in the game, allowing up to eight players to engage in both cooperative and competitive gameplay in a recreation of the single-player setting. Both of the Watch Dogs games were a massive hit. The first installment sold over 12 million copies and its sequel even more. Open world, movie-like plot and a lot of action.
