With the release of Assassin's Creed II (2009), Ubisoft launched the Uplay network which can be activated either in-game or through the Uplay website. Origin is a digital distribution platform developed by Electronic Arts. It offers mainly online gaming service and digital rights management (DRM). Origin allows its users to purchase games via the internet for PC and mobile platforms and then download them with the Origin client.
