Steam is a digital distribution platform created by Valve Corporation. It offers digital rights management (DRM), multiplayer gaming, social networking services, and even video stream function. Steam provides its users with installation and automatic updates of games on multiple computers, as well as various community features. Said features include: friends lists, groups, cloud saving, and in-game voice and chat. Though initially developed for use on Microsoft Windows, versions for OS X and Linux were later released. Mobile apps (with the main software) were released for iOS, Android, and even Windows Phone. Steam is currently the largest digital distribution platform for PC gamers with almost 75% of the market space. It has over 130 million registered accounts (with over 13 million concurrent users). The success of the Steam platform has led to the development of Steam Machine micro-console, as well as SteamOS. Steam’s user-friendly design and frequent sales, only increase its popularity among PC gamers
Dangerous wasteland, gangs of bloodthirsty raiders, long-lasting wars between powerful corporations, and you Gamer. Stranded in this crazy space hell and struggling for survival. Only one game can deliver in such a crazy setting and it's Borderlands! Borderlands series is a real mix of genres and themes. It’s a first-person shooter with action RPG elements set in western/science fantasy world. Created and developed by Gearbox it has been immensely popular on both PC and consoles. All games in Borderlands take place on a fictional planet called Pandora in the unspecified future. Various tales of a mythical “Vault” led to the power struggle between business, military, and mercenary groups over the years. This has also attracted a number of specialized Vault Hunters, lured by the promise of immeasurable treasures. The series consists of three main titles, each with multiple DLC’s: Borderlands (released in 2009), Borderlands 2 (released in 2012) and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! (released in 2014). Since 2009 several spin-offs have been released, including an episodic graphic adventure game made by Telltale. The series was very successful, selling over 30 million copies worldwide in just a few years. Get the latest Borderlands installment and immerse yourself in its crazy world. How far can you get? Find out with Games Republic!
Devil May Cry (also known as DMC)is a video game series created by Hideki Kamiya and Capcom. Originally created as a Resident Evil’s sequel, it was so different in style and mechanics that it was developed into a completely new game. The series focuses on the main character Dante and his goal of avenging his mother's murder. The gameplay consists of multiple combat scenes in which players have to extend long chains of attacks and avoid taking damage. The series is very loosely based on the Divine Comedy poem by the use of numerous allusions (including the game's protagonist, named after Dante Alighieri). The gameplay of Devil May Cry games focuses primarily on fast-paced combat, puzzle-solving, and exploration (the latter are retained from DMC’s survival horror origins). They are downplayed however as Devil May Cry games focus mostly on action. The Devil May Cry series has been a massive hit, with the first three games selling millions of copies worldwide. This success has led to the creation of novelizations, comic book series, an animated series, and even a line of action figures. Get your own copy of Devil May Cry game and immerse yourself in the fluid, spectacular combat. Trust us, it’s insanely fun.
