A simulation video game genre describes a vast and diverse category of games. These games are generally designed to closely simulate many of the real world aspects and activities. A typical simulation game have no predefined goals and players are allowed to freely control their characters and environments. Well-known examples are war games, business games, and role play simulations. The Sims franchise is considered by many as one of the best (and most accurate) simulation games of all time. That said, Sim City is known as the first “true” simulation game. Simulation games are great for players who like to take their sweet time and focus on many aspects during their gameplay. Games Republic offers only the best simulation games for every PC gamer. Choose one of our top products and immerse yourself in pure fun!
War. War never changes. Every time you play a Fallout game, those legendary words are coming out of the speakers. Fallout is a franchise consisting of eight post-apocalyptic role-playing video games created in 1998 by Interplay Entertainment. All events in the series are set in the 22nd and 23rd century. It’s a dystopian, retrofuturistic world heavily influenced by the America’s post-war culture (a unique combination of hope, technology, fear, and nuclear annihilation). The Fallout series is said to be a spiritual successor of 1988’s Wasteland. Although the game worlds are different, the story, locations, inhabitants, and characters (both playable and non-playable) draw many parallels. The first two installments in the series, Fallout (1997) and Fallout 2 (1998), were developed by Black Isle Studios and are considered groundbreaking among the RPG fans. Since the release of Fallout 3 (2008) the franchise took a different approach. Fallout games became first-person shooters (with some RPG elements) set in the open world. It made the gameplay more simple and accessible, a fact that was both praised and criticized by the series’ fans. The most recent installment in the series is Fallout 4, released in late 2015. Every RPG fan knows this series. It’s a legendary brand and a must-have for every true gamer. Check out the Fallout games on Games Republic and enter the Wastelands.
The Watch Dogs franchise revolves around two main video games, created and published by Ubisoft. It also encompasses a novelization and few comic books. Both games are a unique mix of genres, combining action-adventure and third-person shooter with open-world RPG. The first game, Watch Dogs, was released in late 2014 on multiple platforms (but was popular mostly on PlayStation, XBox, and PC). Both games are open-world (Watch Dogs is set in Chicago, Illinois and Watch Dogs 2 in San Francisco Bay Area) and both follow a story of a gifted hacker (in WD it’s Aiden Pearce and in WD2, Marcus Holloway). Players can freely roam both cities in a third-person perspective and use the protagonists’ skills to hack into various systems and devices. An online multiplayer mode is also provided in the game, allowing up to eight players to engage in both cooperative and competitive gameplay in a recreation of the single-player setting. Both of the Watch Dogs games were a massive hit. The first installment sold over 12 million copies and its sequel even more. Open world, movie-like plot and a lot of action. Watch Dogs games can be a great experience for any gamer. Get your own copy at Games Republic.
