In Single Player mode, only one player is expected to participate in every gaming session. The term “Single Player video game” usually refers to a game that can only be played by one person. The series' plot focuses on multiple characters and their role in recurring outbreaks of zombies and other horrible monsters. These events are triggered by the release of the infamous T-virus (and other biological weapons) created by the fictional Umbrella Corporation. The first Resident Evil game was released in early 1996 as a survival horror, but the franchise has since grown to encompass also other video game genres. Today, it’s a fusion of action-adventure, TPP, and horror-inspired plotlines but also employs some level exploration and simple puzzle solving. The entire series has sold over 75 million units worldwide and is considered Capcom's biggest franchise to date. Resident Evil is probably the best horror game series of all time.
