Role-playing games (known also as RPGs) are based on more traditional board games like Dungeons & Dragons. In most of these games player can take a role of one or more adventurers who specialize in a specific skill (combat, magic, stealth, etc.). Many role-playing games force players to travel through the game world, usually populated with various monsters. While doing so, players can access more important locations, such as different towns, caves, and dungeons. Gameplay elements typically associated with RPGs, are: character development (through the experience points), exploration, and gathering of loot. The most well-known RPG franchises of all time are: Baldur’s Gate, The Elder Scrolls, Final Fantasy, Witcher, and Dragon Age. Games Republic. Only top role-playing titles for PC and consoles. The term “Single Player video game” usually refers to a game that can only be played by one person. The “Single Player mode” usually refers to a particular game mode that is designed for one player, though the game also contains other modes (that can be played by several players simultaneously). The majority of modern video games are designed so that they can be played in Single Player. Although many of these games have modes that allow two or more players to have fun, very few require more than one player for the game to be played. A good example is The Unreal Tournament series. Single Player games rely heavily on compelling stories and immersive settings. The point of this is drawing players into the experience and creating a sense of investment. Humans are unpredictable and therefore players cannot be relied upon to carry a narrative in a particular direction. Because of this fact, most multiplayer games try not to focus on a linear narrative. By contrast, many Single Player games are built around a compelling story and interactions with the in-game world. One of the most successful, most well-made horror series of all time. The franchise that basically gave birth to the zombie-apocalypse genre in video games. What are we talking about? The answer can be only one: Resident Evil! Resident Evil (also known as Biohazard in Japan), is a survival horror video game franchise created by Shinji Mikami and Tokuro Fujiwara and owned by Capcom. The franchise revolves mostly around a series of survival horror video games but has also spawned numerous movies, comic books, novelizations, sound dramas, and even action figures. The series' plot focuses on multiple characters and their role in recurring outbreaks of zombies and other horrible monsters. These events are triggered by the release of the infamous T-virus (and other biological weapons) created by the fictional Umbrella Corporation. The first Resident Evil game was released in early 1996 as a survival horror, but the franchise has since grown to encompass also other video game genres. Today, it’s a fusion of action-adventure, TPP, and horror-inspired plotlines but also employs some level exploration and simple puzzle solving. The entire series has sold over 75 million units worldwide and is considered Capcom's biggest franchise to date. Resident Evil is probably the best horror game series of all time.
