The original game series has also expanded into a novelization, Hitman: Enemy Within, followed by two film adaptations (in 2007 and 2015), which are loosely based on the games’ storyline. The franchise consists of three main games, two large expansions, and an official spinoff, Arcania. This spinoff, Arcania is set in the same universe and shares many aspects with the original Gothic series. Gothic games were extremely successful and, in many ways, groundbreaking.
