Warhammer 40,000 was created by in 1987 as the futuristic equivalent to Warhammer Fantasy franchise, sharing many game mechanics. Created as a series of tabletop games, Warhammer 40,000 quickly evolved and spun into other media. Books, comics, and video games set in the 40K universe are numerous just like their fans. Dystopian, gritty and extremely brutal, Warhammer games are set in the war-torn future where humans (known as The Empire Of Man) fight various races and powers for galactic dominance. The world is divided into many separate locations with some areas initially inaccessible. The first game was released in 2010 for multiple platforms and its sequel in 2012.
