All games share one common element which is the series' unique environmental destruction system. This system (based on a Geo-Mod engine) was the most proficient in Red Faction: Guerrilla where the game's entire environment was completely destructible. The series has received many positive reviews, with the original Red Faction and third installment (Red Faction: Guerrilla) getting the most acclaim.
